Jump for Fitness and Fun

Let us at SA Trampoline help you to find the right trampoline for your specific needs.  It’s a misconception that trampolines are for kids alone; it’s for ALL members of the family.

Rebounding exercises the whole body, thereby rejuvenating and oxygenating every single cell in the body – your muscles, bones, eyes, heart, lungs, kidneys, ears, glands – everything! Even NASA reported that rebounding is “the most effective exercise yet devised by man”

Research found rebounding to be 68% more efficient than jogging. Just 2 minutes of jumping offers the equivalent physiological benefits as:  6 minutes of running; 10 minutes of swimming; or 22minutes of walking.

WAYS THE BODY RESPOND TO TRAMPOLINE ACTIVITIES

Trampoline activities, or rebounding exercises, has the following benefits:

  • Provides an increased G-force which strengthens the musculoskeletal system.
  • Protects the joints from the chronic fatigue.
  • It burns fat, builds core strength, and can greatly improve your balance and co-ordination. Few other exercises offer all of these benefits in such an appealing way.
  • It’s a great and fun way to get children who are less inclined to participate in sports or other physical activities to join in. So even the most stubborn video game fanatic will quite possibly use a trampoline without persuasion.
  • It benefits children with learning disabilities, such as attention deficit disorder (ADD) and autism, and can be used as part of their therapy as a lack of mind/body co-ordination is the underlying problem for many of these children. “Learning-disabled children have extremely poor co-ordination, balance and rhythm”, says Dr. Akselsen.  “The usual difficulty bringing on a lack of co-ordination is that one side of the body is not working”. Dr. Akselsen uses trampoline activities as part of her therapy programme. In this, she teaches the child’s mind and body to communicate more effectively, thereby helping the children develop muscle control and improve co-ordination.
  • It aids lymphatic circulation by stimulating the millions of one-way valves in the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system acts as your body’s internal vacuum cleaner.
  • It promotes tissue repair.
  • Allows for deeper and easier relaxation and sleep.
  • Results in better mental performance, with keener learning processes.
  • Stimulates metabolism.
  • Promotes body growth.
  • It exercises every part of your body.
  • It’s not only good for you, but enjoyable and FUN!

“It is simply a miracle the way the body knows how to take care of itself. We just need to know how to help it a little and do it.”

INTRESTING FACTS WE KNOW ABOUT OUR KIDS

Ask yourself, what was one of the first things you remember you loved to do as a child?  For many people the answer is simple – they loved to jump and down.  As children, we often went into happy fits of literally “jumping for joy!”.  Children instinctively bounce on beds, sofas, and any other springy surface they find welcoming – delighting in the rhythmical rebounding motion that propels them onward, upward and forward!

Children naturally know what makes them feel good both physically and emotionally.  Instinctively they know that the body needs aerobic exercise, except that for children this is not exercise, it’s playtime.

Poor diet, TV and computes are too often blamed for the epidemic that the world is facing in today’s society. The focus now needs to be on increasing children’s activity levels to prevent our little ones from becoming the “Obese Generation”.  Like adults, children’s physical activity needs a GOAL and these goals may range from wanting to look good like their favourite pop star, to losing weight (typically in girls), and competition and achievement (typically in boys). Most of all though, physical activity has to be FUN!
